MA, RCC

Dawn Fuller, RCC, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 40 years of experience supporting individuals in Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Grounded in empathy and guided by the principle “Seek first to understand, then to be understood,” Dawn creates a safe, respectful space where clients can reflect, heal, and grow.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and collaborative talk therapy, she helps clients build practical coping skills, gain clarity, and rediscover resilience and hope — even in the midst of difficult seasons.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in Chilliwack, BC, my mantra—taken from author Stephen Covey—is: “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.” The greatest gift a counsellor can offer is deep listening. By understanding your story and helping you clarify your options, I support you in creating an action plan aligned with your goals and values so you can move forward with confidence.

I have personally experienced depression and anxiety, and I understand what it feels like to be in a dark tunnel, wondering, “What is the point?” This lived experience informs my compassionate, non-judgmental approach to counselling.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)—often referred to as the gold standard of psychotherapy—is a primary area of my expertise. CBT is based on the understanding that our thoughts and behaviours directly impact our emotional well-being and physical health. Through CBT, I help clients develop practical coping skills, shift unhelpful thinking patterns, and build emotional resilience.

I also incorporate mindfulness-based techniques into my work. Mindfulness practices such as breathing exercises, guided imagery, and grounding strategies help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and support overall mental health.

As a founding member of the Ann Davis Transition House in Chilliwack, I have many years of experience counselling women, children, and men impacted by emotional, physical, verbal, and sexual abuse. I have supported individuals navigating trauma recovery and relationship challenges.

As a mother of a child born with serious medical conditions, I spent years in and out of hospitals—advocating, learning, and fighting to be heard. I deeply understand the emotional impact a serious diagnosis can have on both patients and families. This experience inspired me to write The Heart of Joshua.

Change is difficult. Many of us resist it until the pain of staying the same outweighs the discomfort of growth. I understand how overwhelming life transitions, grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression can feel. Through supportive talk therapy, I provide a safe space to explore emotions and navigate new chapters with clarity and hope.
